Customs and foreign trade

Customs and foreign trade are subject to strict rules. Processes that are highly complex and time-critical are subject to monitoring and control by a number of national and international authorities operating according to their own standards. This often causes legal uncertainty and confusion, which in turn leads to problems and delays in the supply chain as a result of ill-conceived regulations or arbitrary interference by customs authorities.

AVE informs its members at an early stage about any changes to relevant regulations and advises on their likely impact in practice. As and when it proves necessary, AVE will help its members to overcome specific problems, often negotiating directly with the authorities or advancing persuasive arguments to legislators.
